KPV (TRIPEPTIDE)
Overview
KPV is a tripeptide composed of lysine, proline, and valine (Lys-Pro-Val) and represents the C-terminal sequence of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). Research has examined KPV primarily in relation to inflammatory signaling, intestinal inflammation, and cellular responses involved in tissue protection.
Preclinical studies have investigated KPV in cell and animal models, including research examining NF-κB and MAPK signaling, pro-inflammatory cytokine production, and experimental models of intestinal inflammation. Findings to date are predominantly preclinical and should be interpreted according to the experimental model, study design, and specific endpoints being measured.
