NAD+
Overview
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a naturally occurring cellular coenzyme involved in energy metabolism, redox reactions, and a wide range of cellular signaling processes. Research has examined NAD+ in relation to mitochondrial function, DNA repair, cellular stress responses, and metabolism.
Research has also investigated changes in NAD+ metabolism during aging and the potential relationship between NAD+ availability and age-associated cellular processes. Evidence includes substantial preclinical research as well as ongoing human studies, and findings should be interpreted according to the specific NAD+ intervention, study population, tissue, and endpoint being measured.
